Watch out for birds

Last week Dad and I were coming back from Guymon after some grocery shopping when a couple of doves flew up in front of the van.  One flew to the side of the road but the other flew straight at the van.  It missed the grill but hit the windshield.  It glanced off the windshield, flew over the top of the van and hit the car behind me.  The next thing I know, there are flashing lights in my rear view mirror.  I knew I wasn’t speeding but I didn’t know what I did do.  When the officer reached my car, I asked him what’s wrong?  Do I have a tail light out or something?  he said no, that my tail lights were fine but he was going to have to give me a ticket for flipping him the bird.

UPDATE:

You know, this really is a versatile joke.  I attended a family reunion Labor Day weekend.  One evening, I sat down next to several cousins who were engaged in a conversation on things like their earliest memory as a child, best memory at the grandparents house, etc.  Wanting to get me involved in the conversation, one of my cousins asked me “What was your earliest memory?”.  Not having a clue what my earliest memory was, I changed the setting for the joke to Mom and I going to town when I was probably around three years old.  It’s not that the joke is so funny, it’s that, if well told, it is so easy to hook the audience and sucker them in for the punch line.

Would any of you believe that this is what I used to do for fun?

Would any of you believe this is a shot of me when I was a few years younger?

how many of you believe that I stole this photo off the Internet?

This is about the time we realized Gaylin forgot to pack lunch.
